Memories of Cuba
Inspired by Laura’s recent trip to Cuba, she takes you on a journey through Havana and the Cuban countryside with music, video clips, photographs, and personal narrative. The program includes percussion and singing demonstrations along with solo piano music. Program features Louis Gottschalk, Oyos Criollos, Ernesto Lecuona’s Suite Andalucia (Selections), Ignacio Cervantes: 6 Cuban Dances, Manuel M. Ponce: Suite Cubano, and piano arrangements of traditional Cuban songs and dances including cha-cha, rumba, and boleros.
