Heart and Place: Music of the Westward Expansion
A look at the Westward Expansion through the lens of music. Program includes stories of the 1800’s American West along with works for solo piano, fiddle, singing, and the Northern Cheyenne Courting Flute.
Works include old time hymns, Stephen Foster favorites, Dreaming, by Amy Beach, selections from the Thunderbird Suite by Charles Wakefield Caman, and American Ballads by Roy Harris.

Memories of Cuba
Inspired by Laura’s 2016 trip to Cuba, she takes you on a journey through Havana and the Cuban countryside with music, video clips, photographs, and personal narrative. The program includes percussion and singing demonstrations along with solo piano music. Program features Louis Gottschalk, Oyos Criollos, Ernesto Lecuona’s Suite Andalucia (Selections), Ignacio Cervantes: 6 Cuban Dances, Manuel M. Ponce: Suite Cubano, and piano arrangements of traditional Cuban songs and dances including cha-cha, rumba, and boleros.
